Situated alongside the Ashby Canal, where it crosses the A5, the pub was originally an 18th-century coaching inn. It offers free garden side moorings, a large canal side beer garden with a functions marquee. The first floor lounge has canal views and an open fire in winter. The guest beers change regularly and sometimes include a locally brewed beer. Up to 14 real ciders are served including Weston's and Thatchers. Traditional food is served, with special deals on Monday to Thursday evenings. Local Branch Pub of the Year 2016.
