Lee & Trudi left on 13 November 2019 after 13 years. New landlords awaited.

Old thatched roof Grade II Listed pub dating from 1250. A reputed haunt of Dick Turpin with secret tunnel from pub to village. It underwent a facelift in 2015 including replacement flooring, a new thatched roof and improvements to the restaurant area. Care was taken to ensure the character and original features of the 13th century alehouse were retained. The bar areas remain largely unaltered with reminders of the wattle and daub building technique used when the pub was built during the reign of Henry III. Disabled access: level from car park to rear door. 3 steps to front door. Ladies disabled toilet (may not be suitable for wheelchairs)
